The world's most interesting man to walk the face of the Earth was Jesus Christ. His life was far from ordinary, in fact His life changed the world. Everything He did embodied what it means to Love God, Love People. It is these two commands that Jesus said were the greatest, and in His life we see the ultimate example and fulfillment of what it means to walk in love.
Jesus said, "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." In other words, He came to make peace, between God and Mankind. He goes on to say, "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God." (Jn 3:17,18)
The price for peace was not cheap. Reality is, we are all sinners and we need a savior. Romans 5:8 says, "But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
The reason for this is, because "For the wages of sin is death..." We've all turned away from God, becoming sinners, lost and separated from God yet He made a way for us to be forgiven "...but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Rom. 6:23)
Scripture says this hope is for anyone who will believe, "He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world." (1 Jn 2:2)
"...if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved...For everyone who calls on the name of he Lord will be saved." (Rom. 10:9,13)
Its simple, the very first thing you must do is come to terms with who you are as a sinner. If we are honest with ourselves, we all know that we fall short of perfection.
Take a moment to examine your life, think about whether or not God who is Pure, Truth, Holy, Righteous, and Just, would allow you to enter His Kingdom.
Psalm 24:3-5 says, "Who shall ascend to the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift of his soul to what is false, and does not swear deceitfully."
We've all told lies, rebelled, lusted after the things of the world. We've all committed some form of sin in our lives, and we know it. Real legal guilt and shame consumes us all, because we were designed to honor God and worship Him with our lives.
We have all broken God's law, and are deserving of eternal punishment. Scripture teaches of a literal Hell, a place created for Satan and his demons, however, it is reserved for all who have turned from God.
The good news is, God is Merciful, Kind, Love, and Patient toward us. He truly is Good.
So, if you believe that Jesus Christ is God's Son and that He came to die on a cross for you, to pay for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead three days later, so that in Christ, we might have both the payment for our sin and life everlasting, then spend a moment in prayer with God.
Ask Jesus to save you, and forgive you from your sin.
Prayer is simply talking to God. He hears you, Scripture says, " The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth." (Psalm 145:18)
If you've done this, I'm sure of it that you are at peace with God. Find a local church, get plugged in and tell them about your decision to follow Jesus!
